 Why I Support Mike

Jane Doolan, our Branch Secretary says the following:

I have worked with Mike for quite a number of years. He is hardworking, dedicated and loyal to our membership.

He has great flair and strategic acumen.

A great deal of our work is on personal representation and Mike carries his fair share of casework and he sees all his cases through to their conclusion.

The Deputy Branch Secretary role is vital to the team and I have every confidence in his ability to continue in this role

WHY I SUPPORT MIKE BY DENISE FACEY, Convenor for HASS (Housing)

Denise says:
"I fully support Mike's nomination for Deputy Branch Secretary as do many of my colleagues in Housing Direct. Mike has always been very supportive of all our members and has demonstrated his leadership skills on many occasions in his dealings with Housing staff.

As Housing Convenor HASS and a member of the Branch Committee I have always felt able to approach Mike for advice and guidance and our members have confidence in Mike and his abilities.  Mike has the support of the majority of the Branch Committee and other branch officers.

I will be voting for Mike and I will be voting for Keith Facey as Communications Officer. It is time we had a publicity officer in tune with our membership.  I will also be voting for Colin Finney as the Labour Link Officer."

"I support Michael Calvert for Deputy Branch Secretary. I have been actively involved in the Branch Office since 2001.
It is clear to me how much work goes through the Branch Office. What is also noticebale is how Mike works as part of a dedicated team representing our members, attending negotuiating meetings and keeping us all informed.
Jane Doolan, Branch Secretary, compiled a facility time/case audit at the request of the Branch Committee.
It was staggering how many cases are dealt with by branch officers and Mike does more than his fair share and takes them to a conclusion.
It is of vital importance that we support our members through difficult times and those we face.
An example of the team effort and working was the way in which the Branch fought to stop the Bridge School becoming an academy.
Mike was integral to this.
Mike is always approachable and helpful and he is an asset to our branch.
He has my full support and that of our colleagues at The Bridge School"
